The Glen Head ENL Club Practices English Language and Vocabulary Skills with Students and Parents
At Glen Head School, students learn all about American customs while having lots of fun. Teachers, Marie Zilinski and Nathalie Silva, every month conduct an ENL (English as a New Language) club for children and their parents. They work on conversational English language and vocabulary skills. In addition, they talk about different customs in the United States and review important district events with parents.
Additionally, they expose parents to outside resources to help build background experiences. During the month of December, students learned all about the tradition of the “Ugly Sweater,” and then, held an ugly sweater cookie-decorating contest.
