Ceremony In loving memory of a wonderful son, student, teammate, and person.

“Forever in Our Hearts”

On May 1st, 2017, Scott Lineman, North Shore Head Baseball Coach, and Don Lang, North Shore Athletics Director, along with the entire Viking Varsity Baseball Team and staff held a memorial ceremony for Nick Daley. He was a varsity catcher and pitcher and member of the North Shore Schools Class of 2014.

Nick Daley was a three-year starter for the North Shore Vikings. He went on to play baseball for Mercy College after graduating in 2014. Nick received All County and second team All Long Island honors his senior year. He led the Vikings to the Nassau County Class A finals and was the team MVP his senior year. The Vikings won three straight conference titles during Nick’s three-year varsity career.

Remembering Nickā€¦

Coach Lineman said, “Nick will be remembered as a passionate and versatile player. He was a true competitor that wanted the baseball in the toughest situations. He was a leader and motivated his teammates to be the best they can be. He will truly be missed.”

Former North Shore Assistant Coach, Bob Trenkle said, “Nick’s understanding of the game and what it takes to win is unparalleled in my coaching career. Having him on the team was like having another coach on the staff. I’ll never have another like him”

A plaque in honor of Nick Daley was presented to his beloved family at the ceremony and will remain on the North Shore Vikings dugout in his memory.
