North Shore Middle School E3 Day

North Shore Middle School Participates in E3 Day 2017
Everyone Matters, Everyone Cares, Everyone Learns

On November 21st, the day before Thanksgiving break, everyone at North Shore Middle School did something wonderful and inspiring. Everyone celebrated E3 Day together making a positive difference in the lives of others. “Everyone Matters, Everyone Cares, Everyone Learns (E3) has been the middle school ethos for a number of years. Annually on E3 Day, middle school students are encouraged to learn about themselves and others while thinking about ways they can make a positive difference in their school, community, and in places around the world.

Principal Rob Dennis said, “E3 Day 2017 began with the Annual Thanksgiving breakfast. Our students were served a buffet-style breakfast, prepared by our faculty. All of our students brought in canned goods that are being donated to local food shelters. An all school assembly was then held in the gym where students watched an inspirational video and took the “Pay it Forward Challenge. Additionally, throughout E3 day, all of the money raised (except UNICEF) will be donated to hurricane relief funds.” During the course of the day, students, faculty and staff engaged in numerous activities and fundraising events. Some of these included the following:

  • Cards of Love and Support for Hospitalized Children
  • Crayons for Cancer
  • Raking a Difference
  • St. Christopher’s Clean Up
  • Turkey Bowl
  • Dancing through Sunrise
  • Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club
  • E3 Bake Sale
  • E3 Song Writers
  • Mural Painting
  • Trinity Episcopal Church Grounds Clean Up
  • Read-A-Thon
  • MS Garden Clean Up
  • Pondos
  • Elementary Teachers
  • Singing to Glen Cove Senior Citizens
  • Bake and Package Cookies

Principal Dennis said, “I am so proud of all of my North Shore Middle School students. They not only raised over $6,800 (at last count), but collaborated with their peers and worked hard together to benefit others here in our community and around the world.” To-date, the following was raised during E3 Day 2017:

  • Turkey Bowl - $2,741
  • Basketball Tournament - $1,779
  • UNICEF Fund - $200
  • 6th Grade Advisories - $250
  • Read-a-thon- $400
  • Pondos - $250
  • Bake Sale - $1,279.33

Once again, E3 Day proved that when North Shore Middle Schoolers put their heart and souls into something together, they could rise to the occasion, pay it forward, and make a difference in the world!
