GLEN HEAD SCHOOL "LET GROW"

Students at Glen Head Share “Let Grow” Experiences

On September 12th, Glen Head students happily had the opportunity to visit with their teachers from the previous school year and discuss their “Let Grow” experiences. Everyone gave big hugs to their former teachers as they shared stories about the things they did this summer vacation to “help them grow up.” Some examples that varied by the different age groups included:

  • walking their dog by themselves
  • going to sleepaway camp
  • made breakfast and their beds by themselves
  • learned to juggle
  • babysat their younger siblings
  • rode their bike without training wheels
  • learned to juggle
  • swam without a life preserver
  • cooked dinner for their family
  • did chores and made some money

When asked, “How did you feel when completing these Let Grow experiences?,” the children responded, “I felt happy and responsible.”
In addition, the Kindergarteners had the opportunity to listen to a group story titled “Planet Kindergarten” in the library led by Mrs. Kingsley.
