Fifth Grade Circus

Glen Head Fifth Graders Perform in Circus
Circus Comes to Glen Head

The National Circus Project came to Glen Head Elementary for a week-long event that combined determination and skill in March 2019. With much practice and proficiency, their confidence builds as each student masters his or her activity with a “never give up” attitude.

The fifth graders were able to choose from at least eight different acts to become their specialty for their own performance. The acts included plate spinning, juggling, devil sticks, diabolos, clowns, acrobats, balancers, and stilt walkers. At the conclusion of the week, they put on an amazing in-school show for the whole student body to watch and then an evening performance for their parents, families and friends!

The National Circus Project (NCP) is an innovative cultural arts organization, which promotes student participation in school arts and physical education activities, using “circus” as its theme. The National Circus Project sends teams of internationally acclaimed circus performer/instructors to schools throughout the U.S.A. Students are encouraged to practice repeatedly the circus skills. Special thanks to the Glen Head PTO and the students for such an exciting event!
