Unsung Hero Award

NS High School Senior Receives Dr. James Tolle Unsung Hero Scholarship Award

Congratulations to North Shore High School 12th grader, Jack Gottfried, who was awarded the prestigious Dr. James Tolle Unsung Hero/Heroine Scholarship Award. Only one female and one male throughout Section VIII within Nassau County are selected for this prominent award

The Unsung Hero/Heroine Award is given to the sportsperson who has made a substantive yet unrecognized contribution to sport.  This honor places value on characteristics that are often undervalued in the competitively charged environment of athletics. Ms. McCormack said, “This award recognizes the athlete who makes a significant contribution to the team while also bringing joy to his or her teammates. The five qualities inherent to this award include courage, selflessness, humility, patience, and compassion.”

Jack has played on the following Varsity athletics teams for North Shore including basketball, golf, and soccer.  Many thanks to his coaches Mr. Richter, Mr. Bishop, Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Dahill.

Congratulations Jack!
