We are pleased to introduce Family Connection, a web-based service which will assist North Shore students in managing the college application process and keeping track of their college applications. This is a comprehensive program that students and parents can use as a tool in planning for college.
Family Connection allows you to:
- Develop and edit a personal profile and build a resume
- Research colleges
- Compare a list of colleges using average test scores and GPA’s of students accepted in the past
- View acceptance history for North Shore High School students
- Learn about yourself and careers that might be a good match.
In your personal account, you can organize personal data, lay out a game plan, maintain a list of prospective colleges and track the application process.
Seniors: by going to the section entitled My Colleges, you may verify that your school records and counselor recommendation have been sent from the guidance office. We know that colleges are receiving a record number of applications and often individual student records may be temporarily misplaced in their mailrooms. In order to alleviate any anxiety caused by concern about submission of your school records, we encourage you to check this website regularly.
While we anticipate heaviest usage among our juniors and seniors, many of our younger students and their parents will find this tool to be helpful in longer term planning.
As always, if you have any questions about your college applications, the application procedure or using Family connection, please don’t hesitate to call your counselor at 277-7030.
