Transitioning from childhood to adolescence can be a challenging time for many middle school students. Middle school students are experiencing changes developmentally, socially and emotionally. It is a time of increased independence and exploration of personal worth, values and identity.  Students often exhibit a rollercoaster of emotions in dealing with this life change. For some students, this process is more difficult. As counselors, we are here to provide support during this challenging time. We are available to meet individually with students to discuss a variety of issues including:

Academic skills support
Organizational, study and test-taking skills
Education in understanding self and others
Crisis intervention and coping strategies
Peer relationships and effective social skills
Communication, problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution

*This school-based service is not a substitute for personal therapy outside of school. Counselors may suggest private referrals for students in need of more intense counseling services.
