The Buildings and Grounds department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of seven buildings and several out buildings totaling 520,000 square feet and over 65 acres of grounds. We are committed to providing a clean and safe environment for the students, faculty and staff.

Bond Phase Two Projects:
Due to a backlog in approving projects at the State Education Department. Many of the Phase Two Bond Projects were not approved. We cannot move forward with construction without approval. The following projects were approved and will be constructed Summer 2015

We eagerly awaited the results of the Budget vote on Tuesday May 20th 2014. We are grateful to the residents for passing the budget. There are several large projects in the budget, they are as follows:
Library Air Conditioning units replaced. This will be completed in summer or early fall 2015, Tennis Court Renovation. This will be completed in summer or early fall 2015
Renovation of Existing Baseball Field – Due to SED backlog in approving this project, the funding for this will be carried over to summer 2016 and the project will be completed then.
The North Shore Buildings and Grounds Department will work closely with BBS Architects, Landscape Architects & Engineers and Savin Engineers PC, Construction Managers. We will meet weekly with all of the contractors to keep the projects moving forward and have them completed on time. The Construction Steering Committee will meet monthly or more as needed to keep the Board of Education up to date on our progress.
The Buildings and Grounds staff will also work diligently towards completing all of the projects outlined in the 2015-2016 budget. It is our goal to utilize the summer months to complete as much work as possible. This will be in conjunction with the normal summer cleaning of all of the building to ready them for the next school year.

Floor in room 124 replaced, Concrete walk replaced near front entrance, Gym stair treads replaced, Carpet in Rm. 208 replaced, painting.
Teachers Workroom Carpet replaced, Key card access installed on loading dock door, painting.
Reframe tech lab wall, replace gutters on main entrance canopy, carpet replaced in Guidance office, replace library window wall, classroom blinds replaced, painting.
